2025-2026 Annual Open Enrollment
Monday, April 28 – Friday, May 9, 2025
Currituck County is pleased to provide a comprehensive benefits package to eligible full-time employees who work 30 or more hours per week. Read our Benefit Enrollment Guide booklet for a brief summary of the benefits available. Detailed plan booklets will also be provided for more in-depth information about each program.
Our benefit offerings are available to you and your family at competitive group rates, which can be paid through payroll deductions.

During the Annual Enrollment period, you can make changes to your benefits. Any adjustments or enrollments made during this time will take effect on July 1, 2025. Changes to your benefits outside of the Annual Enrollment period can only be made if you experience a qualifying life event or change in status. If this occurs, you must notify Human Resources within 30 days.
Eligibility:
You and your dependents are eligible for Currituck County benefits on the first day of the month following 30 days of employment.
Eligible dependents include your spouse, children under 26, disabled dependents of any age, or other dependents who meet Currituck County’s eligibility criteria.
Open Enrollment Steps to Take:
- Review the Currituck County benefit highlights and costs.
- Enrollment is being done through Benefit Solver at www5.benefitsolver.com. Log in using your username and password. If you forgot your user name and password, click on “Trouble Logging In?”. First-time users can click “Register” to set up their account. Use the Currituck company key NCHIP (case-sensitive)
- Determine your coverage elections (e.g., employee only, employee + spouse, employee + child, employee + family).
- This year, Open Enrollment is passive. If you do not want to make any changes to your health, dental, or vision coverage, no action is required. However, if you wish to enroll or re-enroll in an Flexible Spending Plan (FSA) or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Plan (DCFSA), you must make your elections during Open Enrollment.
Important Notes for This Year:
- Open Enrollment is passive. If you are happy with your current elections (excluding FSA and DCFSA), your benefits will automatically roll over to the next plan year.
- To enroll or make changes to your Flexible Spending Accounts, you must log in during Open Enrollment.

Currituck County Extension and Community Association (ECA) members are proud to announce they are accepting Application for the 2025 Northeast District Extension and Community Association Scholarship. The $250.00 scholarships are given to a youth or an adult who are continuing their education beyond the high school level in any field of study. (Part-time students must carry no less than six (6) hours per semester and full-time students must carry no less than twelve (12) hours per semester.)
A youth applicant is defined as a high school senior or a student currently enrolled in college having completed high school without a break in his /her formal education. An adult is an individual who has completed high school and has had a break in his/her formal education and now wishes to further his/her education.
All applicants must be Currituck residents and planning to attend an accredited college, community college or technical institute in the fall of 2025.
The deadline for applications is Friday, April 25, 2025. Applications should be returned to Sheila Gregory, 120 Community Way, Barco, North Carolina 27917. You may also obtain an application or get more information by calling the Currituck County Center of N.C. Cooperative Extension at 252-232-2261.

These webinars are a great way to get information directly from the system and ensure you’re on track for a comfortable retirement.
