Employee Resources
Currituck County takes getting important information to our employees very seriously. That is why the Employee section of our website was created.
Here you will find important information on your benefits, including your health insurance coverage, how to get assistance with an insurance problem, who is on your county wellness committee, etc.

United Way Kick Off is Here!
Are you looking for ways to give back to the community this time of year? What if you could give back all year long? Well, you’re in luck! The Wellness Committee is partnering with the Albemarle Area United Way to provide staff an opportunity to give to vetted charities through payroll deductions. Staff have the choice to give through 24 automated payroll deductions during the 2026 tax-year, or a one-time donation via check.
Packets with more information on the charities available have been sent to each department. There are several local charities you may already be supporting, and this is a way to make for a more streamlined and convenient process.
This is completely voluntary and there is absolutely no obligation to participate.
If you would like to participate, please complete a donation form (supervisors have enrollment forms) and return it to Human Resources. The first deduction will be taken from the January 7, 2026, payroll. Any questions about The United Way or the process may be directed to email Taylor Pless or call 252-232-3228 and Human Resource will be happy to help.

Diabetes Awareness Month
November is Diabetes Awareness Month, a time for the American Diabetes Association and the world to rally behind the fight to end diabetes.
Nationwide, over 38 million people have diabetes and nearly 98 million have prediabetes. In the last 20 years, the number of Americans with diagnosed diabetes has more than doubled.
Diabetes Awareness Month is vital for educating the public, promoting prevention, supporting those affected, and advocating for better resources and research. By increasing awareness, we can work towards reducing the prevalence of diabetes
Why Observe?
- Increase Awareness of Diabetes
- Many people are unaware of the symptoms, risk factors, and complications of diabetes. Observing this month helps to educate you on the condition and its impact.
- Encourage Early Detection
- Millions of people live with undiagnosed diabetes or prediabetes. Early detection is crucial to prevent complications and improve outcomes. Observing this month encourages you to get tested.
- Promote Prevention
- Diabetes Awareness Month emphasizes the importance of prevention strategies and empowers individuals to take control of their health.
