Flyer: January Edition (PDF)
Budgeting is one of the first great lessons of personal finance, yet relatively few people are taught the basics of creating one. Or if they’re taught, they forget. The inability to measure how much money is coming in and how much is going out is a primary reason for financial illiteracy in this country.
So it’s a good idea to go over those basics. The Webster’s definition for budget is simple: “A plan for the coordination of resources and expenditures.” A budget is both a noun and a verb – a plan and a process. So it makes sense to go over the basic process of budgeting – learning exactly what money is coming in to your life, what’s going out and how effectively you’re using the difference.

Why Preventative Care?
Staying up to date on preventative care is essential for staying healthy and catching potential health issues early. preventative care means taking proactive steps to protect your health, and annual physicals are a key part of this strategy. These check-ups allow you to actively partner with healthcare professionals to maintain and enhance your wellbeing.
Importance of Annual Physicals:
- Primary Care Provider (PCP) Relationship:
By establishing a relationship with a PCP you can ensure that you receive comprehensive care, early detection of health problems, and personalized guidance for a healthier life. - Early Detection:
Helps identify potential health problems early for prompt treatment. - Prevention and Health Promotion:
Provides an opportunity for discussion of preventative measures such as vaccinations, screenings, and lifestyle modification. - Chronic Condition Monitoring:
Annual physicals allow those with chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease to discuss with healthcare providers how to monitor and provide guidance on managing their conditions. - Baseline Establishment and Monitoring:
Regular physical exams help establish a baseline for your health to be able to better track health changes over time.
