Currituck Spotlight

County Issuing New Currituck County Access Permits

Currituck County is in the process of mailing to all property owners the new Currituck County Access Permit, which will be valid  for 2 years beginning January 1, 2023 until December 31, 2024.

Each property owner will receive 2 permits.

These permits are to be displayed on the user’s vehicle windshield in order to:

  • Utilize the trash and recycling convenience centers
  • Park on the 4 Wheel Drive beach in Corolla
  • Re-enter designated areas following an emergency evacuation.

The 2 new Currituck County Access Permits for 2023-2024. With County Seal and one is blue and one is red.During the transition to new permits, the date citizens may use their Solid Waste Permits has been extended to Tuesday, February 28, 2023.

Property owners that have not received their permits in the mail please contact the County Manager’s office at 252-232-2075.

Citizens who are long-term renters in the county may submit an online application to receive their permits. The online application, along with additional permit information, may be found at currituckcountync.gov/access-permits/.

If you want to play in a spring sports in Currituck County Parks and Recreation this year you better hurry up and register.

Registration may be done:

  • Online until Midnight if you already have an account.
    If you don’t have an account you can set up one quickly by calling 252-232-3007 before Monday.
  • Mail by sending a completed and signed registration form to Parks & Recreation by Monday with the proper fee.
  • In-Person at the Parks & Recreation office in Barco until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2023. Call 252-232-3007 to make an appointment. Accept cash or checks only.
