Accepting School Supplies
The Historic Jarvisburg Colored School Board will be distributing school supplies at the school on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 pm.
If you have not yet had an opportunity to tour the school, take this opportunity while you are dropping off or picking up supplies. Everyone is welcome and tours are FREE of charge.

Seeking Citizen at
Community Meeting for
Public Inclusive Art Grant
The Tourism Department is seeking public input for a proposed monument or statue commemorating the life of John Jasper White, known as “Currituck Jack”. He was an enslaved sailor during the Revolutionary War period.
Three public meetings will be held to tell the story of Currituck Jack and gather ideas for the artwork from citizens.
The meetings will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at:
