The North Carolina Military Business Center (NCMBC) is a collaborative effort between North Carolina business and industry and the North Carolina Community College System. North Carolina Veterans Business Association (NCVETBIZ)

NCVetBiz was formed to assist veterans, veteran professionals, and veteran business owners. As a member–operated association of veteran professionals and business owners, their intent is to develop and strengthen a veterans’ business network in North Carolina.

SCORE

SCORE mentoring is a FREE service offered to any aspiring or established owners of a U.S.-based business. Partnering with you one-on-one, SCORE mentors support your success by providing experienced advice, consulting on best practices, and educating you on small business topics.

Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ)

Foreign trade zones (FTZ), sometimes known as free trade zones, are geographically designated and secured areas that for legal purposes are considered outside of U.S. Customs territory. FTZs offer several economic advantages for companies involved in international trade.

There are 6 general purpose FTZs serving North Carolina, 5 of which are based within the state, and 18 active subzones approved for use by individual companies. Currituck County is in Zone #20, the Northeast North Carolina Zone is based in Norfolk, Virginia and is administered by the Virginia Port Authority. The administrator for this zone is Laura Swankler.
