The Department of Social Services will host a public meeting on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, to provide information on foster care and adoption. Any county resident who wishes to learn more about these opportunities may attend with no obligation to foster or adopt a child. This meeting is intended to provide information and answer any questions citizens may have about the program.
Requirements for becoming a foster or adoptive parent include being a county resident of at least 21 years of age, completing a free 30-hour training course, having stable employment, and completing a criminal background check.
