The Currituck Department of Travel & Tourism’s Event Grants Program supports nonprofit organizations and for-profit businesses in producing high-quality events that attract visitors to Currituck County. Unlike the Event Marketing Assistance Program, grant funds may be used for a broader range of eligible expenses, as outlined in the Event Grants guidelines. Funds are reimbursed to approved applicants upon submission of paid and approved invoices.
The Event Marketing Assistance Program provides funding specifically for advertising and promotional efforts related to events, festivals, special promotions, and culturally related activities hosted by organizations outside the Travel & Tourism Department. To qualify, events must demonstrate their ability to attract visitors from outside Currituck County and include paid media advertising and promotional materials.
New applications for the 2026–2027 Event Grants are now available on the Northern Outer Banks website at northernouterbanks.com/business-resources/.
Applications will be accepted from Sunday, March 1, 2026, through Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Applicants are required to attend a special meeting of the Tourism Advisory Board on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., at the Historic Courthouse.
