Safe methods for paying utility bills

Over the past few months, cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus have been reported across the world and most recently cases have been reported in North Carolina.  Currituck County is taking precautions to maintain safe environments for both our citizens and our employees.  If possible, please use one of these alternatives for conducting business with Currituck County utilities without coming to the office in person.

Establishing New Water and/or Sewer Service:

Email ubwater@currituckcountync.gov .  Applications will be sent to your email address that you can complete and return to our office by return email.

Disconnecting Water and/or Sewer Service:

Email ubwater@currituckcountync.gov.  In this email, please include the name on the account, account number, service address, date for service termination and a phone number that we can call if we need additional information.

Paying Your Water and/or Sewer Bills:

  1. Credit/Debit/E-check:

Use the link below.  This will allow you to pay your account by credit/debit card or E-check.

You will need your account number that is found on your bill.  If you cannot locate your bill, please email ubwater@currituckcountync.gov or call the office at 252-232-2769.  This will process directly to your account at 8:00 AM the next business day.  There are no additional fees to pay online.

  1. Your Banking Bill Pay Service:

You will need to set this up with your bank.  It could take 7-10 days to process.  Your bank will issue a check and it will be delivered by the US Postal Service.  Please make sure your banking service has your correct account number and is mailed to:  Currituck County Water/Sewer Department or Southern Outer Banks Water Department, PO Box 220, Currituck, NC 27929. Incorrect account or mailing address could cause additional delays.

  1. Pay by Check through the US Postal Service:

Mail your check and remittance coupon back to the County in the pre-addressed envelope provided with your bill.  This could take 7-10 days for delivery through the US Postal Service. Please mail to:  Currituck County Water/Sewer Department or Southern Outer Banks Water Department, PO Box 220, Currituck, NC 27929. Incorrect account or mailing address could cause additional delays.

  1. Night Drop on Drive-Thru Window at the Water Department:

Our office is located at 444 Maple Road, Maple, NC 27956.  Please note this is not our mailing address.  Please drop checks with remittance coupons in the night drop or stop by the drive-thru window.  If you have cash, please only use the drive-thru window.  No cash should be deposited in the night drop.
