Currituck County will show its support for military veterans by displaying green lights at county facilities from November 4 – 11, 2025. The Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution on October 20, 2025, to support Operation Green Light and declare Currituck County a “Green Light for Veterans County.”
2025 marks the fifth anniversary of Operation Green Light, an initiative of the National Association of Counties. It coincides with Veterans Day and encourages the use of green lighting to recognize military veterans. Local governments, businesses, and homes can participate by placing green lights in windows or exterior lighting.
Currituck County feels it is important to honor those who made immeasurable sacrifices to preserve freedom. County facilities that will display green lights include the Historic Courthouse and Public Safety Center.
