Currituck County is in the process of mailing new Access Permits to property owners. Permits are being mailed during the month of December. The new permits will be valid for a two year period of 2025-2026.
Each property owner receives two Access Permits, regardless of the number of properties owned. Similar to the current permits, the new Access Permits will be a static cling design that may be transferred from one vehicle to another. The permits should be placed in the lower windshield corner on the driver’s side.
Access Permits are necessary to utilize the trash and recycling centers and to park on the 4WD beach in Corolla. The permits are also used as a re-entry permit following an evacuation.
Long-term renters must submit the online application form at https://currituckcountync.gov/access-permits/ to receive their permits.
Anyone who does not receive the permits by January 31, 2025, should call county staff at 232-6001.
