The 2024 Operation Santa Claus aims to help all children, senior citizens, and families in need enjoy the Christmas holiday. Operation Santa provides gifts to Currituck County families with children and children in foster care. Senior citizens in need of extra support are provided with food baskets and disabled adults in guardianship receive Christmas gifts.
The application period for those seeking Christmas assistance is October 14 – November 22, 2024. Applicants must be a Currituck County resident and must apply in person at the Department of Social Services office, located at 2793 Caratoke Highway, Currituck, NC, 27929.
Donations are accepted and each is tax deductible. All proceeds benefit citizens of Currituck County. Participants can help by doing any of the following:
(1) Sponsor a family – Purchasing new, unwrapped gifts for the children.
(2) Donate money or gift cards – These will be used by Social Services to purchase Christmas gifts for children. Donations may be made in the following ways:

- In person at the Department of Social Services office. Business hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
- By mail to: 153 Courthouse Road, Suite 400, Currituck, NC, 27929. Make checks payable to “County of Currituck”.

(4) Food Basket Program for Adults – Make a donation of food, money, or gift cards to help disabled and elderly adults in need of extra support. Monetary donations are accepted to purchase Christmas gifts for disabled adults in guardianship. Monetary donations can only be made in person or by mail.
