Currituck County Master Gardener℠ Volunteer and owner of Fuggles Flower Farm, Dr. Emily Nekl is presenting another free course on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Currituck County Center.

Emily writes,

”It’s time to organize your summer gardening work! Oh my, how vegetables really do love flowers, especially flowers that you can cut and bring into your home or gift to all your favorite people! In this roundtable discussion, we will discuss how to get both summer vegetables and magnificent flowers to thrive in your annual garden plot. We will start with ground preparation and garden design for minimum management and then dive into heat-loving vegetables and flowers, such as tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash, corn, basil, sunflowers, celosia, zinnia, marigold, and gomphrena. Learn how to attract beneficial organisms to your soil using vegetables and flowers as a lure! Your garden’s summer bounty will be immense!”
