Maybe you’ve grown them in the past, and had no luck, or maybe you’re looking for a more bountiful harvest. If this sounds like you, or if you’re interested in fruits and berries, N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center has the class for you. On Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Cooperative Extension is offering a FREE 3-hour, hands-on class where they will cover:
- dormant season fungicide sprays,
- site selection,
- and more!
Plants covered will include: peaches, blueberries, grapes, raspberries, blackberries, and strawberries.
The class will be held at the Currituck County Extension Office, 120 Community Way, Barco, from 9:00 am – Noon on Saturday, March 5th. We will start indoors, covering the basics for each fruit type, then we’ll head outdoors to our teaching orchard for hands-on demonstrations. The class will be held rain or shine (though the outdoor portion may be shortened) so make sure to dress appropriately.
To sign up, head over to Eventbrite at smallfruitworkshop2022.eventbrite.com and register by Friday, March 4, 2022.
