Master the art of food preservation in a hands-on pressure canning workshop! Participants will learn how to transform fresh, locally sourced tomatoes into rich, shelf-stable tomato sauce entirely from scratch. This session focuses intensively on proper pressure canning techniques to ensure long-term storage safety. Instruction covers essential steps such as venting procedures, gauge monitoring, and altitude adjustments to build confidence in the kitchen. By the end of the class, attendees will have the practical skills needed to stock a pantry for the seasons ahead.
Class will be held at the Currituck Extension Center on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. The $10 class fee will cover the cost of produce and materials that you will be taking home!
