April’s Employee Wellness Activities
2026-2027 Annual Open Enrollment
Monday, April 27 – Friday, May 8, 2026
Take a moment to review your current benefits and make sure you’re getting the most out of your coverage. The upcoming Open Enrollment period is for the 2026–2027 plan year (July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027).
We’re continuing with the same trusted carriers for all benefit plans:
- Medical: PPO Plan administered by Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina
- Dental: Delta Dental
- Vision: Delta Vision
- Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA): Flores
- Healthcare FSA
- Dependent Care FSA
This year’s open enrollment will be passive. This means your current benefit elections will automatically carry over into the new plan year unless you make changes.
Important Reminder: Flexible Spending Accounts (Healthcare FSA and Dependent Care FSA) do not roll over. You must actively enroll or re-enroll in these tax-advantaged accounts during the Open Enrollment period to continue participating.

April Earth Month Waste Reduction Challenge
In honor of Earth Day (April 22), this month’s challenge focuses on reducing waste—small changes can make a big environmental impact. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency offers several ideas for reducing, reusing, and recycling at home, work, and in the community.
This month we challenge you to take an intentional step to reduce waste. Self-report what you did using the online form by Monday, April 27, 2026, to earn a FREE ticket for the prizes at the Health & Wellness Day (Friday, May 1, 2026, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Public Safety Building, EOC). Attendance is required to claim your ticket.
