Ready to get moving, have some fun, and add a little friendly competition to your workday? Join the Wellness Committee for Stepping Into Spooky Season, a three-week walking challenge designed to keep you active, motivated, and connected with your coworkers!
There will be drawings each week for $25 Amazon gift cards and an overall prize of a $50 Amazon gift card. To be eligible for the weekly drawings you must walk at least 5,000 steps per day for at least 4 days that week. To be eligible for the overall prize, you will need to walk 5,000 or more steps per day for at least 4 days per week for each of the three weeks.
Blue Jeans Fridays Are Officially Back
The Currituck County Board of Commissioners has approved “Blue Jeans Fridays” in support of Operation Santa from October 2 through December 18, 2026.
This festive initiative gives County employees an opportunity to show their support for local families while enjoying a little extra comfort on Fridays. Employees may wear work-appropriate blue jeans each Friday by making a $2 donation per week.
All proceeds will benefit Operation Santa, which provides Christmas assistance to children, families, and individuals in Currituck County who are in need during the holiday season.
We applaud the Board of Commissioners for supporting this meaningful holiday tradition and helping make a difference in the lives of Currituck County families. Their support, along with the generosity of County employees, will help bring a little extra joy and holiday cheer to those who need it most.
American Red Cross Blood Drive – Donating Blood Is As Easy As Pie

Maximize your blood donation. Help more patients. If you are an eligible type O, B – or A – donor, consider making a Power Red donation. Red blood cells are the most commonly transfused blood component.
Once again Human Resources will give you a chance at a $25 Amazon gift card raffle for Currituck County employees who donate. Currituck employees stay on the clock when donating! The Red Cross will be giving out $15 gift cards.
