The County of Currituck, North Carolina requests bids for the replacement of four variable frequency drives (VFDs) and cabinets located at:

Bids will be received by email to Crystal Owens, Contract Purchasing Agent, by email at Bids@CurrituckCountyNC.gov until 2:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Friday, May 16, 2025. Bids received after this deadline will not be accepted. It is the sole responsibility of the Bidder to ensure receipt of its’ bid by the County. Complete Contract Documents in digital Portable Document Format (PDF) format for this project may be obtained from Crystal Owens, Contract Purchasing Agent, by email at Bids@CurrituckCountyNC.gov.

This is an informal bid. Bids will not be opened publicly and read aloud. Award will be made to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of 30 days.

All bidders must meet the licensing requirements under Chapter 87 of the N.C. General Statutes. Small Business Entities, Women Owned Businesses, Minority Owned Businesses, Veteran and Service-disabled Veteran Owned Businesses are encouraged to submit bids.

The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities and defects, as it may deem to be in its best interest.

Pre-Bid Meeting

A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at:

The meeting will address project specific questions, issues, and bidding procedures. Attendance by prospective bidders is NOT mandatory.

Questions and/or requests for clarification shall be submitted in writing to Crystal Owens, Contract Purchasing Agent at Bids@CurrituckCountyNC.gov no later than 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025

All questions requiring additional information, as well as responses to alternate product requests, will be addressed in an addendum issued no later than 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. All addenda will be considered part of the Contract Documents.

Alternate Product Request

If a contractor proposes the use of a product other than Benshaw, prior written approval must be obtained from the Owner. Alternate product submittals must be provided by 10:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Friday May 9, 2025. Submittals must be sent by email to Crystal Owens, Contract Purchasing Agent, at Bids@CurrituckCountyNC.gov.
