The County of Currituck is requesting bids for the construction of a new 400,000 gpd wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and the demolition of the existing 500,000 gpd sewage treatment plant (STP) and all related appurtenances. Each Bidder must show evidence that it is licensed under Chapter 87 of the NC General Statutes. A certified check or cashier’s check payable to Currituck County or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by a corporate surety licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute such bonds in the amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. A conditional or qualified bid will not be accepted.

The successful bidder shall be required to furnish separate one hundred percent (100%) Performance and Payment Bonds in compliance with the North Carolina General Statutes Section §143-129 and of Article 3 of Chapter 44A. The Performance Bond shall be in full force and effect for one (1) year after the date of final acceptance of the project buy the Owner.

Each bidder must complete and submit along with a bid an E-Verify Affidavit to comply with North Carolina General Statutes.

The Board of Commissioners of the County of Currituck reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. The Board of Commissioners has established a goal of 10% minority and woman business participation for this project. Contractors shall complete the Minority Business (MB) and Women Business (WB) Participation worksheets included within the Proposal and submit them with their Bid as indicated.

Prime Contractors must purchase a complete set of plans, specifications and supporting documents from the Engineer in order to be considered a Plan Holder and to submit a bona fide bid. Bid documents will be provided on a thumb drive in electronic format only. Addendums will be through Dropbox.
