Federal Aviation Administration
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is responsible for the safety of civil aviation. Major roles include, but not limited to:
- Promote safety in civil aviation
- Encouraging and developing civil aeronautics
- Developing and operate air traffic control and navigation systems
- Researching and developing the National Airspace System and civil aeronautics
- Develop and monitor programs to control aircraft effects on the environmental
- Regulate U.S. commercial air space
North Carolina Division of Aviation
North Carolina Division of Aviation is part of the Department of Transportation and is responsible for all aviation functions such as state system planning, airport and aviation system development and provides funding to communities for construction and the improvement of airports in the state.

First Flight Society is an aviation organization that works with the National Park Service to preserve the original site of the Wright brothers’ flights.

The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) was created to have an organization where members could come together to share their passion for aviation with others.
