Currituck County has been awarded a $500,000 grant from the North Carolina Parks and Recreation Trust Fund (PARTF) to support the development and expansion of its local Community Park amenities.
Governor Josh Stein announced the PARTF grant recipients across the state, selecting Currituck County’s project as one of 25 local recreational initiatives funded during this competitive grant cycle.
The Parks and Recreation Authority evaluated 42 applications requesting over $15 million statewide. Out of these competing requests, the board allocated $9.8 million in local matching grant funds to support public land acquisition, park renovations, and the construction of new recreational facilities in North Carolina communities.
Access to quality parks and recreational facilities plays a vital role in the health, well-being, and overall quality of life for Currituck County residents. Securing this $500,000 state grant allows us to enhance public outdoor spaces for Currituck families and visitors to enjoy for generations to come.
