Mark your calendars for the 2026 Planes & Plows Festival on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Hosted by the Currituck County Regional Airport (CCRA) and the Currituck Cooperative Extension Service, this year’s festival will take place at a NEW LOCATION between the Currituck Regional Airport and the newly constructed Elizabeth City State University Currituck Aviation site.
Celebrating the “America 250” theme, the festival honors our nation’s rich aviation and agricultural heritage with a full day of family-friendly entertainment, hands-on activities, and exciting demonstrations.
Festival Highlights
- Spectacular Air Shows – Watch thrilling aerobatic performances throughout the day as skilled pilots take to the skies.
- The “Prop & Plow” Treat Trail – Replacing the traditional Candy Bomber, this interactive adventure invites children to visit aviation and tractor stations to collect stamps and treats. Young guests are encouraged to wear costumes and participate in the end-of-day costume contest.
- Agriculture Olympics – Cheer on competitors in this crowd-favorite event featuring fun rural games and agricultural challenges.
- Vendors & Static Displays – Explore antique tractors, farm equipment, aircraft, local food vendors, artists, crafters, and community exhibits.
- Educational & Youth Activities – Enjoy passport activities, a petting zoo, children’s arts and crafts, and demonstrations from the College of the Albemarle, including sheet metal fabrication and demo displays. The festival will also feature a canning contest and a People’s Choice Award for children’s arts and crafts.
