Unlock the secrets of seasonal preserving in our vibrant Pepper Preservation Workshop!

This hands-on session focuses on the art of water bath canning, using the finest locally grown red peppers to fill your pantry with homemade goodness. Did you know that peppers are a low acid food and therefore need plenty of added acids to make them safe for water-bath canning? Through this class, you will master the techniques for creating savory roasted marinated red peppers ensuring that the peak flavors of the harvest last all winter long. You’ll leave the kitchen not only with the confidence to can at home but also with your own hand-packed jars and tested recipes to share with family and friends.

Class will be held at the Currituck Extension Center on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. A $10 ticket price will cover class materials and produce!
