Currituck County commissioners and staff will host the first in a series of community “town hall” meetings on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Jarvisburg Elementary School. The meeting will begin at 6:00 pm in the gymnasium.

Citizen registration is not required, but is encouraged. Please register online at https://lowercurritucktownhall.eventbrite.com

A review of the Strategic Plan process will be given by County Manager Rebecca Gay.  She will also introduce the four focus areas of the meeting:

  • Housing
  • Infrastructure
  • Economic Development
  • Quality of Life

Cameron Lowe, Director of the Currituck County Center for NC Cooperative Extension, will facilitate interactive feedback sessions with citizens. Each segment, based on the four focus areas, will include facilitated discussion with commissioners that will center on the strengths, challenges, and future vision for each focus area. Citizens will be engaged and asked to provide feedback for each focus area.

Following the facilitated discussion, time will be provided for citizen comments and/or questions on topics unrelated to the four focus areas.

Community meetings will also be held in the mid-county area, Moyock, Corolla, and Knotts Island. Dates and times for these meetings will be announced. Citizens may attend any meeting. Anyone with questions may contact the County Manager’s Office at 252-232-2075.
