Registration for the fifth annual Citizens Academy will be accepted from January 1 – 31, 2026. The class will meet on Thursdays, from 6:00 pm to 8:15 pm, beginning on February 5.

The Citizens Academy provides an opportunity for Currituck County residents to learn about local government, offering a closer look at the functions of individual departments and management of the county. Each class session will focus on specific departments and will be held in various county facilities to provide participants an up-close look at work spaces, equipment, and technology. The Citizens Academy is free of charge for all participants.
