Currituck County is pleased to announce Rebecca Conners as the Director of the 911 Communications Department. Her first day with the county was Monday, November 3, 2025.
Conners most recently served as Operations Manager for the Charlottesville-University of Virginia-Albemarle Emergency Communications Center in Charlottesville, Virginia. Her prior experience also includes serving as a 911 Training Supervisor in York County, Pennsylvania and a 911 Emergency Telecommunicator in Lake County, Indiana.
Conners earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana State University and a Master of Public Administration Degree, also from Indiana State University. Her certifications include a National Emergency Number Association (NENA) Emergency Number Professional and NENA Certified Training Officer. She is also certified as an Emergency Medical, Fire, and Police Dispatcher from the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch and as a Communications Center Manager by the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials.
