Troy Breathwaite was sworn in as a member of the Currituck County Board of Commissioners at the November 3, 2025, meeting. Ray Matusko, Clerk of Superior Court, administered the oath of office to Breathwaite.
Breathwaite is filling the District 5 seat, which became vacant when Commissioner Owen Etheridge was approved for a leave of absence on October 6, 2025. Etheridge’s leave of absence is effective until January 1, 2026, and Breathwaite will serve as a fully active, voting member of the Board during this time.
