More than twenty members of Currituck County staff participated in the 2025 NC Department of Transportation Litter Sweep on Earth Day, April 22, 2025. The volunteer clean up effort concentrated on roadways in front of and near county facilities. A significant amount of litter was picked up on Courthouse Road, Hwy. 168 near Courthouse Road and the Governmental Center, Maple Road, and Shortcut Road near Community Park and Central Elementary School.
Community groups are encouraged to participate in litter sweeps to keep their neighborhoods and Currituck County clean!
