As we begin 2025, Currituck County encourages all county residents to sign up for Currituck Alert. Currituck Alert is the county government’s mass notification and alerting system. Users receive emergency messages during situations that might impact the community, such as water and gas leaks, hurricane updates and evacuations, flooding, road closures, and law enforcement activity.
Subscribers also receive notifications of important public meetings and community events, and the system allows citizens to opt-in during special community events to receive event-related messaging. Currituck Alert provides options for receiving all-county alerts or for Corolla-specific information only.
Citizens can choose to receive alerts via email, text message, and recorded voice message when registering online at Currituck Alert. To receive text messages only, users may simply text CTUCKALERT to 888-777.
