Whether for fun or survival, foraging can be a great way to supplement your diet with plants that are not only delicious but can also be healthy. Participants will learn how to confidently identify and forage for abundant, healing plants. What’s more, you’ll fill your kitchen and apothecaries with the most nourishing wild medicines in our area.
The esteemed Vickie Shufer will present “Wild Food Farmacy”, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center. She is an herbalist and naturalist with a Master’s Degree in therapeutic herbalism. She owns and manages a native nursery, Wild Woods Farm, where she teaches classes on foraging, medicinal, edible, and native plants, and more! Vickie is the author of The Everything Guide to Foraging, and numerous articles and publications, she was also the editor/publisher of The Wild Foods Forum newsletter from 1994-2014.
The fee for this event is $10.00, register at wild_food_farmacy.eventbrite.com. We accept cash and check payments in addition to paying via credit card through Eventbrite. Please, make checks payable to NCSU. Checks and cash payments can be received at the Currituck Extension Office located at 120 Community Way Barco, NC 27917, within 5 days of registration.
