North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center is hosting a 4-H Domestic Poultry Show on Saturday, October 7, 2023 in conjunction with the Currituck Planes and Plows Festival. The show is open to youth ages 5 – 18. There will not be any specific breed classes, but we will have 3 different divisions:
- Standard Laying hens,
- Bantam hens,
- and Roosters.
Youth can show 1 bird in each division. There will be a registration fee of $5.00 per participant. To register for the 4-H Domestic Poultry Show, please visit 20234Hpoultryshow.eventbrite.com The deadline to register for the poultry show is Friday, September 22, 2023.
The 4-H Staff will also be holding workshops to help educate youth about chickens, other poultry related contests and poultry showmanship. These workshops are not required to participate in the show, but are recommended. The dates for those workshops are Wednesday, August 23 and Tuesday, September 12, 2023.
All participants for the 4-H Domestic Poultry Show and the 4-H Poultry Workshops must also be enrolled in 4-H Online for the 2023 program year; the link to that portion of the registration process is available at v2.4honline.com/. If you are registered in 4-H online with another county please let us know.
We are accepting cash and check payments in addition to paying via credit card through Eventbrite. Please make checks payable to NC State University. Checks and cash payments can be received at the Currituck County Extension Office located at 120 Community Way, Barco, North Carolina 27917, within 5 days of registration.
