April 2026 Senior Center Daily Happenings
The Currituck County Senior Centers; Barco, Knotts Island and Powells Point are places designed to give Senior Adults in Currituck the opportunity to meet other seniors, receive services geared towards seniors and participate in activities that will affirm their dignity and self-worth.
With that in mind each month the staff produces a newsletter to inform citizens of available programs for that month. Please take the time to read what the Senior Centers are doing this month.
When we all work together the senior centers are an “enjoyable and a happy place” for EVERYONE!

Cooking with Latesa…
Brazilian Lemonade
Ingredients:
- 4 medium limes
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 8 cups water
Directions:
- Peel 3 limes, removing as much white pith as possible to avoid bitterness. (Leave 1 lime unpeeled.)
- Place all 4 limes, sweetened condensed milk, sugar and water in a blender. Pulse 4-6 times, just until the limes are broken down. Do not blend continuously, over blending will make the drink bitter.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into pitcher, pressing gently with a spoon to extract liquid.
- Discard pulp and lime pieces.
- Taste and add more sugar if needed.
- Add ice to the pitcher and serve immediately for freshest flavor.
