With that in mind each month the staff produces a newsletter to inform citizens of available programs for that month. Please take the time to read what the Senior Centers are doing this month.

Cooking with Latesa…

Brazilian Lemonade

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium limes
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 cups water

Directions:

  • Peel 3 limes, removing as much white pith as possible to avoid bitterness. (Leave 1 lime unpeeled.)
  • Place all 4 limes, sweetened condensed milk, sugar and water in a blender. Pulse 4-6 times, just until the limes are broken down. Do not blend continuously, over blending will make the drink bitter.
  • Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into pitcher, pressing gently with a spoon to extract liquid.
  • Discard pulp and lime pieces.
  • Taste and add more sugar if needed.
  • Add ice to the pitcher and serve immediately for freshest flavor.
