Navigating the complexities of Medicare can be daunting for many individuals as they transition into this vital healthcare program. To offer support and comprehensive guidance, North Carolina Cooperative Extension is thrilled to announce the “Welcome to Medicare” event scheduled for Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the NC Cooperative Extension Center.
The event aims to empower new Medicare beneficiaries with essential information about their coverage options, rights, and available resources. Whether attendees are approaching age 65 or are new to Medicare, this session promises to demystify the enrollment process and address common concerns.
During the two-hour event, participants will have the opportunity to:
- Gain insights into the various parts of Medicare and understand how they work.
- Explore coverage options, including Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage plans, and prescription drug coverage.
- Learn about enrollment periods, deadlines, and penalties for late enrollment.
- Receive personalized assistance and answers to specific questions from knowledgeable Medicare Counselors
- Connect with fellow beneficiaries and share experiences in a supportive environment.
The “Welcome to Medicare” event will take place at the NC Cooperative Extension Center located at 120 Community Way in Barco, North Carolina. Light refreshments will be provided, and admission is FREE of charge however registration is required. Please pre-register at Currituck Medicare 101.com.
