February 21, 2025:
Currituck County Government will operate under a normal schedule for county facilities on Saturday, February 22, 2025.
Facilities open include: all trash and recycling convenience centers, transfer station, animal shelter, Barco and Moyock library branches, and the Historic Jarvisburg Colored School.
County administrative offices are expected to reopen on a regular schedule on Monday, February 24, 2025.
February 20, 2025:
Currituck County Government offices and facilities will be closed on Thursday, February 20 and Friday, February 21, 2025, due to the winter storm resulting in hazardous travel conditions throughout the county. Citizens are advised to remain home if possible and avoid driving on snow or ice covered roads.
- This closing includes all county administrative offices, trash and recycling convenience centers, transfer station, animal shelter, Moyock Visitor Center, Historic Corolla Park museums, and library branches.
- Currituck County Parks & Recreation Department has canceled all games and practices for Feb. 19-20.
- Parks & Recreation soccer and volleyball practices scheduled for Feb. 22 are canceled. The makeup date for both sports will be March 1.
All emergency response departments are fully-staffed, so citizens may call 9-1-1 for emergencies. However, some responses may be slower than normal due to road conditions.
