Citizens in Currituck County have access to business-related programs offered by the College of the Albemarle (COA). The COA Small Business Center provides free seminars and workshops designed to support small business owners, entrepreneurs, and individuals interested in growing their businesses.
Upcoming free programs in January include “2025 Vision – Strategizing for Success”, “Business Checkup – Ways to Assess the Shape of Your Business”, “Am I Entrepreneurial Material?”, and “The Entrepreneurial Mindset”. Each of these sessions are webinars provided online via Zoom.
The Small Business Center offers a wide menu of online webinars and in-person classes. Citizens can sign up for non-credit courses as well as certification programs and classes taken for credit towards an Associates Degree.

Also, COA offers a number of in-person courses in Currituck County at the Regional Aviation and Technical Training Center in Barco. These include aviation and machining programs, forklift operation, and law enforcement training.
