The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is nearing completion on a feasibility study regarding possible improvements to Highway 168 in Currituck County. The study may recommend actions that would improve traffic congestion and improve safety on Highway 168. The project timeline calls for a final scoring report to be released in March 2025.
NCDOT has recommended widening a 4.7 mile area of Highway 168 from Guinea Road to North Point Boulevard to the Virginia state line. Additional improvements include a sidewalk on the west side of Highway 168.
Citizens may find information from NCDOT at N.C. 168 Improvements Feasibility Study.
