Currituck County residents have an opportunity to receive free assistance when preparing their federal and state tax returns. The AARP Tax Preparation service will provide trained counselors to help county residents understand and file tax returns. This program is open to all Currituck County residents regardless of age and is geared towards low to moderate income levels. Certain filing restrictions may apply.
Tax preparation assistance will be offered by appointment only, beginning on Thursday, February 6, 2025. No walk-ins will be accepted. Appointments will be held on Thursdays at the Currituck Senior Center, located at 130 Community Way, Barco, NC, 27917.
Residents may begin making appointments on January 17 by calling the Currituck Senior Center at 252-232-3505.
