Currituck County Board of Commissioners will conduct a public hearing at the Historic Currituck County Courthouse on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. and possibly take action on:

- PB 25-15 Currituck County: Request to amend the Unified Development Ordinance, Chapter 2. Administration and Chapter 10. Definitions and Measurement, to remove the special use permit requirement for type I preliminary plats (subdivisions creating 20 or fewer lots) when one or more public facilities are at 85% or more of maximum capacity, and clarify definitions related to preliminary plats.
- PB 25-16 Currituck County: Request to amend the Unified Development Ordinance, Chapter 8. Nonconformities and Chapter 10. Definitions and Measurement, to change the Existing Lot (Lot of Record) definition.

- PB 25-14 Green Acres Land Development: Request to amend a special use permit for extractive industry (mining) to increase the excavation area on the site from 40% to 50. The property is approximately 58.39 acres, located at 7177 Caratoke Highway in Jarvisburg, north of Meadow Lake Circle, Tax Map 109, Parcels 61 and 61A, Poplar Branch Township.
- PB 25-17 Foster Forbes: Request to amend a special use permit for extractive industry (mining) to increase the excavation area on the site from 19.9% to 42.7%. The property is owned by Foster Allan Forbes, which is approximately 41 acres and is located at 8180 Caratoke Highway in Powells Point, across from Pinewood Acres Subdivision, Tax Map 123, Parcel 79, Poplar Branch Township.
