Resident Re-Entry Permits
Questions & Answers
- How do I obtain new or additional permits?
- Are my Currituck County re-entry permits from 2020-21 still valid?
No, please discard these permits.
- When does the current Solid Waste/Re-Entry Permit expire?
December 31, 2022.
- If I misplace my Solid Waste Decal, what can I use as acceptable documentation for access to Solid Waste Facilities or evacuation re-entry checkpoints?
If you have misplaced your permit, proof of residency or ownership with a Corolla or Carova address will be required to allow you access to your property.
Examples of acceptable documentation include:
- driver’s licenses,
- tax bills,
- utility bills,
- and lease agreements with a Currituck Outer Banks address.
- Do I need to get a decal for each of my vehicles?
No. Since the permit is cling-style, you can move them from one vehicle to another. Just make sure to place the decal in the driver’s side part of your windshield.
- How many permit decals will the County mail to me?
Two (2) per residence at the initial distribution.
Additional permits can be obtained by filling a online application.
- If I am renting a residence in the Currituck Outer Banks, how do I obtain a permit?
Renters can obtain permits directly with documentation such as:
- mail,
- utility bills,
- or lease agreements.
- My tax bill goes directly to my mortgage company; how will I get my permits?
The Tax Department sends all residents a copy of their tax bill; your permits will be with the copy sent to you.
