Currituck County will address concerns for increased traffic volume and visitor safety at the county’s two busiest convenience centers by adjusting the hours of operation on two days of the week. Effective on November 6, 2022, the Grandy and Moyock convenience centers will make the following schedule changes:
- Sunday hours of operation will increase to 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Tuesday hours of operation will be reduced to 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- The remaining days of the week will continue to follow a schedule of 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
The intent behind the change is to reduce the traffic congestion and wait times for citizens at Grandy and Moyock on Sundays, which is one of the busiest days of the week. Tuesday is the least active day of the week at the sites.
These schedule changes apply only to the Grandy and Moyock convenience centers. All other convenience sites in the county will remain on the current schedule: Monday – Saturday, 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.; and Sunday, 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
