General Election Notice and Information

The statewide General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.

One-Stop Early Voting Schedule

  • Thursday, October 20 to Saturday, November 5, 2022
  • Held at the Currituck County Board of Elections, Government Complex, 2795 Caratoke Hwy, Currituck, NC 27929.
  • Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
  • One Saturday only:  November 5, from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Absentee Ballots will be mailed to voters who have requested them starting September 9, 2022. A voter can fill out an Absentee Ballot Request Form online at votebymail.ncsbe.gov, or by filling out a request form provided by the Currituck County Board of Elections. The request must be received through the website or by the Currituck County Board of Elections office by  5:00 p.m. on November 1, 2022.

In the general election, voters will select candidates for U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, N.C. General Assembly, state and local judges, district attorney, and county offices.

Voter Registration Deadline for this election is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2022. Eligible individuals who are not registered by that deadline may register and vote at any early voting site during the early voting period. New registrants will be required to provide documentation of their residence.
