The Board of Commissioners, county staff, members of the Historic Boat Committee, and public guests officially opened the Currituck County Maritime Museum during a ceremony on July 15, 2021.

This beautiful facility is located in Historic Corolla Park, near the Currituck Beach Lighthouse, Historic Whalehead, and Outer Banks Center for Wildlife Education. The museum includes historic boats, artifacts, photographs, and exhibits that tell the story of Currituck’s rich maritime history for both recreation and business. It is currently open Monday through Friday, and admission is free.
