The Currituck County Board of Commissioners, on January 14, 2019, appointed Selina Jarvis to fill its vacant District 2 seat. This vacancy was created when former commissioner Bobby Hanig resigned in early December after winning election to the North Carolina House of Representatives. Jarvis, a teacher in the Currituck County school system, will complete the remainder of Hanig’s term, which expires in December of 2020.
