On Wednesday, February, 10, 2021 N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center will present a workshop for both professionals and homeowners who want to learn how to properly prune their ornamental trees and shrubs.
The workshop will cover when, why, and how to prune:
- tree assessment,
- proper cuts,
- developing good branching habits,
- looking for defects,
- correcting problems,
- and how much to prune.
Working on real trees in the field will help participants improve this important skill. We will host a [1] lecture followed by an in-person, hands-on portion to the class, where participants will have an opportunity to prune a Crape Myrtle tree on the premises, with staff available to assist you every step of the way!
We have a limited number of pruning saws available for use, so please bring your own if possible.
Join us on February, 10, 2021 from 1:00 to 2:30 p. m. Register online for this free workshop at https://pruningornamentaltreesandshrubs.eventbrite.com
If you have questions or need accommodations for persons with disabilities please contact Chris Blaha at 252-232-2262 or email ctblaha@ncsu.edu no later than five business days before the event.
