Sealed bids, will be received by Currituck County until 4:00 p.m., Friday, December 4, 2020 for:

Sludge Removal and Land Application
for the
Currituck County Detention Center Sewer Lagoon

The Project consists of:

  • Removal of approximately 3,600 cubic yards of sludge material from existing lagoon
  • Land application of removed sludge material
Submission of Bids

Bids submitted shall include the following items:

  • One copy of General Contractors License
  • One copy of Bid Form

All bids MUST be:

  • made on the required Bid Form
  • be fully completed and executed when submitted
  • marked “Sludge Removal and Land Application for Detention Center Sewer Lagoon”

Any bid received after the time and date specified shall not be considered. It is the Contractors responsibility to verify receipt of any bids submitted to the County prior to the deadline.  The County may waive any informalities or minor defects or reject any or all bids.

This is an informal bid. Bids will not be publicly opened and read aloud. No Bidder may withdraw a bid within 5 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.

Award will be made to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder.

Pre-Bid Meeting

A Pre-Bid Meeting will be held for all interested bidders at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the:

Attendance by prospective bidders is NOT mandatory.

Question or Request Contract Documents

Written questions and requests for clarification shall be submitted via e-mail to Nick Ingold no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2020.

All questions requiring additional information will be responded in an addendum no later than Tuesday, December 1, 2020.  All addenda shall become part of the Contract Documents.
