This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is issued by Currituck County to acquire the services of a Design-Builder for Currituck’s new Public Safety Center located in Barco, North Carolina.

The project will consist of the construction of an approximately 47,600 square foot building to serve as the County Public Safety Center. The project will include the colocation of the following departments:

• Sheriff
• Emergency Management
• Communications
• Emergency Medical Services
• NC Forestry
• NC State Highway Patrol
• as well as educational space for College of the Albemarle’s Public Safety Program.

Multifunctional space will also be included in order for the facility to transition into the County’s Emergency Operation Center when necessary. There will also be an approximately 13,800 square foot pre-engineered metal building for various storage and training needs to support the mentioned departments.

Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) deadline has been extended to no later than 5:00 p.m.,  Verizon Wireless Eastern Standard Time, on Thursday, October 4, 2018  at the place designated for delivery in Section 2.1. from Proposers, whose combination of experience and personnel will provide timely professional services to the County for this project.

2.1 Statement of Qualification Submission

Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope or package, addressed to the Assistant County Engineer at the address below. The name and address of the prospective firm, including RFQ Title, shall be placed on the outside of the package. All items required for a responsive SOQ shall be included.

It is the responsibility of the Proposer to ensure that the SOQ package is complete and received at the proper date and time. SOQs received after the due date and time will not be considered.
